A manicure is a cosmetic beauty treatment for your hands and fingernails. It can be done at your home or at a nail salon performed by experienced professionals who are licensed to do it. These professionals are usually known as nail technicians or manicurists. Manicuring improves the appearance of the hands and the nails.
Unlike nail treatment, which involves the beautification of the nails, manicure involves treatment for hands too. In olden days, women used to apply some cream to improve the looks of their hands. It was formerly considered only a luxury for the rich. The concept of manicure did not exist then. Today, manicurists use specific instruments, waxes, creams, oils and massage techniques to clean or shape your nails and generally improve the look and feel of your hands.
There are various kinds of manicure services available. They include shaping of the nail, use of different oils and creams, or even of electro pulse or hot stone massage as a part of the treatment. Some manicures can include the painting of pictures or designs on the nails or applying small decals or imitation jewels.
Since manicurists employ the same instruments to treat different people, sanitization should be given high priority. Therefore, manicurists have to obtain a license before they can set up their nail salon, thereby ensuring they adopt various measures to contain the risk of spreading infections.
Manicure can be performed at home. There are various articles on the internet explaining the procedure of standard manicure. They include novel styles and trends and tips on how to keep your hands and nails clean. The procedure involved consists of delicate steps such as shaping your nails. Therefore, you might want to have a professional manicurist performing the treatments on your hand considering that the outcome of the treatment is visible to anyone. So, a manicure operation at home going wrong may just have the opposite outcome.
The massage technique applied on the hand can improve and increase the blood circulation, suppleness and flexibility of your hands and wrists. Proper manicuring can discourage wrinkling of the skin on the hand. Therefore, it is recommended for all to undergo regular manicuring to improve the looks of your hands and wrists.
